GV-backed clinician management startup Medallion lands $35M

Medallion, a tech startup that helps healthcare providers manage their clinician operations, raised $35 million June 23 in a series C funding round co-led by GV, Alphabet's venture capital arm.

Founded in 2020, the firm offers a software platform that expedities and automates provider licensing and credentialing for healthcare companies including Oak Street Health, Carbon Health and Hims & Hers, according to a news release.

"Patient care has completely transformed, and now more than ever, patients expect to receive care how they want it — this creates an enormous challenge for health systems and digital care companies that manage state licensure, plan enrollment and provider monitoring," Sangeen Zeb, partner at GV, said in the release. "Medallion’s software platform immediately solves all of these complexities, giving customers the ability to focus on what matters most: patient health."

The investment round was co-led by Spark Capital and brings Medallion's total funding to $85 million.
